After leaving Malaysia, my goal was to head to Thailand right away to meet up with my good friend Sandy from back in Washington. However, after checking ticket prices, I realized I could stop at Singapore and the total cost in airfare would be the same. So, I figured I’d go check out the ‘Lion City’. Why not, right? While I’m normally not a huge fan of cities, I’m glad I made the decision to go to Singapore. Here’s why!
Nathan studied and started working in business, but quickly grew tired of it and tried teaching English in South Korea. Since then, he's been working and traveling around the world. So far, he's visited 30 countries, with many more to come!
First off, the food. Singapore is a very global city, and as a result, you can get pretty much any type of food you are craving. My first night there, I shelled out a little extra cash for a proper Thanksgiving dinner. It was soooo expensive and soooo delicious! I even had a nice slice of homemade pumpkin pie a la mode afterwords. While it was late and lacking a few key elements (family and apricot-glazed sweet potato casserole) it was still a pleasant surprise.
